#10 Basking Shark (Image 10 of 10)
The basking shark is the second largest fish, and only smaller than the whale. The largest specimen measured over 40 feet. Like the megamouth shark, it is a filter feeder, has small teeth, and also eats plankton. Despite their vicious appearance, the basking shark is not aggressive, is slow moving, and is harmless to humans.
